La Belle Epoque Reviews
Read through our reviews below to get a feel for the wonderful experience that awaits you at La Belle Epoque, a Napa bed and breakfast. La Belle Epoque is a luxurious Napa Valley bed and breakfast inn with farm to table cuisine, high count linens, champagne, and a wonderful setting for romance in the Napa Valley.
Highly Recommended for a Romantic Getaway!
When we drove up to this amazing Victorian mansion, it was like coming upon a time machine and getting ready to be catapulted back into the year 1893. The Scottish Le Cordon Blue (Paris)- chef Jas opened the door and my ears filled with his beautiful Gallic accented voice. He is also the manager at the La Belle Epoque and made sure our stay was wonderful right down to placing long stem roses, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries in our room.
Everything in Napa is within walking or stumbling distance – or if you are not a walker or stumbler a cab ride is available and quick.
We stayed in the bedroom with the stained glass windows from an old church that was torn down in 1850. It was amazing when the sunlight hit in the mornings. (But this room is a little bright- in case light bothers you in the morning- opt for another room) Our room was right next to the front door but we were not disturbed by the coming and goings of our fellow guests. We came on a Thursday and had the entire Inn to our selves!! We were able to explore the other rooms which have all been recently remodeled, and the house was all ours- we opted to sit in the picture window and soak up the spring blooms.
Breakfast at the B&B/Inn:
Both mornings our breakfast started off with poached pear or poached apples with a yummy light carmel sauce. I can’t even explain the amazing things that Jas does with egg soufflé!!! He was actually able to cook a hard boiled egg into the wonderfully flavored herb and cheese infused soufflé… Chefs from all over come to order that breakfast and he won’t give up his secret!
Highly recommended for a romantic get a way!

Our Experience Could Not Have Been Better!
This is a B and B so keep in mind that staying here is VERY different than a hotel. Really, you are renting a large bedroom with attached bathroom in someones house. The house is entirely rented out and the owners live nearby.
The house is wonderfully decorated. The staff runs a very professional operation and can book and recommend all sorts of activities. These people really know the area and all of their suggestions were 100% spot on.
You are served breakfast, which is prepared by a Cordon Blue chef. The breakfasts include meat. All three mornings we were there, the breakfast was wonderful. One morning, my wife did not want what was being served and the chef fixed something to her liking.
In the evenings, they bring in a local winemaker and have wine tasting in their basement cellar. They are supposedly the only B and B offering this service.
Our experience could not have been better!

Loved La Belle Epoque for So Many Reasons!
My boyfriend and I stayed at La Belle Epoque for 3 nights and loved it for so many reasons!
A few days before our trip we decided that we’d be coming into Napa a day early. I emailed and asked if our suite (The Elizabeth) was available that night. It wasn’t, but another room was, and we added it to the reservation no problem. When it came time to switch rooms, the staff moved all our belongings to our other room, which I found very nice.
The bubbly and truffles in the room upon check in was awesome. It’s a good way to kick off a vacation.
In the main house they have a hospitality area with fresh baked cookies, crackers, fresh fruit, a Keurig, water, etc. Very nice if you have a late check-in or get the midnight munchies. They also have a decent DVD collection, and it was nice to watch a movie in bed when we got back from a day of wine drinking and walking around!
Speaking of wine drinking, they gave us several 2-for-1 wine tasting vouchers and another voucher for 2 complimentary tastings, all within walking distance of each other. We got away with spending less than $40 for a day of sipping wine! (not including the bottles we bought, of course)
In the Elizabeth Suite, all of the amenities mentioned above are IN the room! They even have luxurious bubble bath in the cabinet to use with the over-sized jetted jacuzzi tub.
The beds in both rooms were very comfortable. Both rooms came with extra pillows (which is important for me!) and the sheets and bedding were soft and high quality. They had several bathroom amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, cotton swabs, makeup removing towelettes, a shower cap, etc. Very thoughtful!
The breakfast each morning was absolutely wonderful. A word to the wise though, it’s served strictly from 9am to 9:30am. Arrive late and you miss it! However, if you anticipate that you’ll miss it, just let them know and they’ll box it up for you. I am going to upload some pictures because the presentation was simply beautiful! It’s a 3 course breakfast, too!
All in all – I was pleasantly surprised by my first Napa B&B experience. We will definitely return.

Hospitality-La Belle Epoque Gets It Right!
The term B&B is synonymous with hospitality. La Belle Epoque gets it right.
Nestled just a short walk from fantastic restaurants and wine bars in downtown Napa, La Belle Epoque is a Victorian confection full of charm. Sunshine glistens in an array of colors from the original stained glass windows that grace many of the rooms. Soft classical music plays in the parlour. Front and back entrances ensure that you can enter after a late dinner without disturbing other guests.
One of the magical things about a B&B is the other guests. Whether it is at breakfast or later in the afternoon lounging in the parlour, we find that the other guests are always interesting, friendly, and ready to share. Who knows who you will find and what stories they have to tell? During our stay, we made friends with other guests on the first day. Then, we enjoyed their company and stories of their adventures in the valley each morning.
Breakfast is obviously important at a B&B. What is better than to wake up and step right into the dining room where breakfast is waiting for you? At La Belle Epoque, at 8 a.m. each morning, coffee is freshly brewed and ready. At 9 a.m. a lovely breakfast is served.
Georgia was our hostess. Talk about helpful! Just before we arrived, she sent a list of restaurants and wineries. She offered to find a driver for us and make restaurant reservations. We’d planned ahead, so didn’t need the help. However, the genuine offer was a surprise and greatly appreciated.
When in a place like Napa, stay away from the big box hotels. Friends of ours stayed there. They had a breakfast, too. However, it wasn’t as good as our gourmet breakfast. They had a happy hour each evening, but at La Belle Epoque, they are bringing in a wine maker or rep to share and talk to you. Besides, there is no replacement for true B&B hospitality. We can’t recommend La Belle Epoque enough.
